I know, I know, this is a song about cheating in relationships.  However, today I was goofing off on Facebook when I received a friend request. I accept any and all requests because I’m just that type of person.  Sometimes, little warning bells go off and I check the person’s profile.

This person that added me had some major warning bells. I checked out her profile and sure enough the bells were right. First, the profile was new like it had nothing but some info and a picture. Second, the profile said she worked at Facebook HQ. I started laughing.

I waited about a minute or two and sure enough she sent me a private message that went something like this: Hello Melinda Anderson. My response, Hi. How are you and your family doing? My response, Good, how are you? ALSO Good. I’m Charlson Sherry Ann, form United States of America ,I work for Facebook social Network Inc..and you? My response, I’m from the US. I have my own business that makes no money. I was authorized to contact you by the Facebook Organization and to pass some vital information that can change your life for good which is the reason why i added you. My response, Okay, what’s the info? Before i proceed with the message i will like to know if you have heard about the Facebook online lottery. This is where I started laughing and went off.

This is the second time this year some one has tried to pull this scam on me. It took me like 20 minutes to do some research the first time to learn two things. First, the Facebook lottery is a scam. Second, Facebook employees are not allowed to contact users via private messaging on Facebook. I shared this information via Facebook the first time and this time I shared it on Facebook and my different blogs. Both times, I also shared the so called ‘profile’ of the people involved.

I understand that life out in the wide world is hard and people are trying to find anyway to make some money to survive. However, ripping off other people who work hard for what they have is not the right way to go about it. Especially, since there are people like me who will do the research, report the problem to the authorities, then warn everyone they know via social media. I may not be able to protect everyone but I can protect my small corner of the world.

Let’s get this Halloween started right with a little In This Moment. Now, you might be familiar with this group from previous songs such as Sick Like Me and Sex Metal Barbie.

I have heard Sick Like Me playing on Sirius’s Octane, thanks guys for keeping me connected to new music, but Sex Metal Barbie was a song I never heard. That is until one of son’s friends mentioned it then Octane played it the next day. However, I never was able to catch the name of the band.

Then, Big Bad Wolf hit the air waves. First time I heard it I was blown away unfortunately I only got to hear like the first 20 seconds. I was in the car driving and I had reached my destination. I waited for it to come back on but I was never in the car long off.

Last night, my husband and I went out to dinner then we went to the Elks lodge for a drink. On our way home, Big Bad Wolf played and we were rocking out in the car. However, once again I had missed the name of the band.

This morning I wanted to post something freaky scary for Halloween and thought of this song. I googled it and low and behold it was by a band I actually already liked and it has an Official Video.

So here it is, Big Bad Wolf by In This Moment.

These guys followed me on Twitter, Thirteen’s EvilTwin, and I followed them back; I’m an equal opportunity listener. For whatever reason, the guys in the band and other staff members have really kept in touch and I have been asked to review a couple of their songs. They were trying to pick out a single. I thought what the hell, I have no idea what I’m talking about but I listened to their songs and gave my opinion. I thought okay that was awesome and fun but probably the last time they’ll contact me for anything.

I was apparently wrong.

While dealing with my health issues and a million other tiny little details of life, they were plotting.  They kept messaging me on Twitter with any info about sales, new music, so on and so fourth.  I was unaware of this. I finally, broke out of my world of self pity, changed a few things on some of my blogs, then opened up Twitter and went, “What?”

Apparently, Thirteen came out with two singles, Insanity and El Diablo, while I was being slammed into the world of dieting. Now, Insanity supposedly has my name, Melinda, in it somewhere or so they claim. I did not hear it but this song fuckin’ rocks.  This song describes exactly how I have felt this last couple of months but it also mirrors a book that I have written called Insanity; which is now free on a different blog.  I don’t know if the guys in the group have read it but it fits the book perfectly; even though, my main character kills herself.

By the way, El Diablo is just as good. Although, I’m partial to Tequila and I probably will be going to hell. Anyway, if you need some new kick ass heavy tunes, check these guys out and see if you can hear my name.

Update:  I just realized that they might have used my Twitter user name RayvenIre. Going to listen to Insanity again.

This is the Dustbowl Revival with their new single Never Had To Go. The song is awesome by itself but some how they got Dick Van Dyke and his wife to dance in the video. For 89 years old, he moves pretty dang good.
