Because of health and legal stuff, I had to disappear for awhile but I’m back. I’m bruised, broken, and well generally feeling like crap. In other words, not much has changed, oh wait, I did have a surgery that will hopefully prevent a low iron problem. Maybe, if I’m lucky, it’s a female thing okay. Let it go.

I was absolutely depressed in the gutter trying to decide what to do next. Literally. I finally decided that maybe I should check my e-mail and social media accounts. Interesting how you can disappear for a few months and this blog and my Twitter account blow up.

I was responding to messages, writing a post for a different blog, and just generally trying to find a reason to care about anything any more. Then, wham! I find this little jewel from Forever Still.

I have no idea who they are honestly, absolutely none. They followed me on Twitter and messaged me back in wow, uuummmmm let me check, December. Ouch that stings a little on my part.  Anyhow, I checked them out on You Tube and this is the most recent video that I could find.

All I can say is wow. Talk about finding the right song to motivate you into finding your voice and standing on your own two feet. Thanks Forever Still, this was the perfect song to help me get out of my pity party.

These guys followed me on Twitter, Thirteen’s EvilTwin, and I followed them back; I’m an equal opportunity listener. For whatever reason, the guys in the band and other staff members have really kept in touch and I have been asked to review a couple of their songs. They were trying to pick out a single. I thought what the hell, I have no idea what I’m talking about but I listened to their songs and gave my opinion. I thought okay that was awesome and fun but probably the last time they’ll contact me for anything.

I was apparently wrong.

While dealing with my health issues and a million other tiny little details of life, they were plotting.  They kept messaging me on Twitter with any info about sales, new music, so on and so fourth.  I was unaware of this. I finally, broke out of my world of self pity, changed a few things on some of my blogs, then opened up Twitter and went, “What?”

Apparently, Thirteen came out with two singles, Insanity and El Diablo, while I was being slammed into the world of dieting. Now, Insanity supposedly has my name, Melinda, in it somewhere or so they claim. I did not hear it but this song fuckin’ rocks.  This song describes exactly how I have felt this last couple of months but it also mirrors a book that I have written called Insanity; which is now free on a different blog.  I don’t know if the guys in the group have read it but it fits the book perfectly; even though, my main character kills herself.

By the way, El Diablo is just as good. Although, I’m partial to Tequila and I probably will be going to hell. Anyway, if you need some new kick ass heavy tunes, check these guys out and see if you can hear my name.

Update:  I just realized that they might have used my Twitter user name RayvenIre. Going to listen to Insanity again.

The office is a little noisy today because some of them other employees are cranking up Megadeath. I just got here so I’m not quite sure what is going on just yet.

Although, the Megadeath does seem appropriate since I did watch VH1’s Rock Icons with Dave Mustaine of Megadeath. Okay, I admit it I only caught like the last twenty minutes and I was slightly toasted. I really should lay off the Jack and Coke when I have to work in the morning.

Anyway, I enjoyed what I saw and I am going to record the episode with Mustaine. I think I am going to get a Season pass, kick back, submerge myself in rock.

Wildside Riot is a band out of UK that has finally released their debut album, No Second Take. I have only heard the single, Wildside Riot, off the album and I have to say I like it. If I ever have some extra cash, I will buy the album.

The funny thing is I didn’t find them, their guitarist, Joss, found me on Twitter and he followed me. I returned the favor and followed him and checked out the band he plays in. I now follow the band.

I also checked to see if they had any videos on You Tube and found this gem, My Woman (acoustic). Any band whose sound can translate from studio to acoustic, including live, rocks in my book.

Anyway, I like their sound and they seem like they would be a riot to watch in concert but don’t take me word for it, go check them out.

As you can see, I have re-purposed the Grindle Publishing as Grindle Music. As you may or may not know, I love music; however, I can not play an instrument. I have been known to karaoke my heart out and I have been told I should go pro. Keep in mind this advice is given by a group of very inebriated men. Needless to say, I have not followed their advice nor do I plan too.

Anyhow, I have been promoting my poetry through different social media sites. As a result, I have a few bands that follow me on Twitter. Of course, I follow them back and I am instantly jealous of the talent they posses. I always recommend the bands I do like to my families and friends who then say something like ‘I’ve never heard of them’ or ‘I haven’t heard them on the radio.’ Radio around here is limited to what is POPULAR and I do not know of a single person who can afford SIRIUS.

So where I live there are tons of bands local and far far away who never get heard. Unless someone like me says “Hey, listen to this.” I am going to remedy this. Keep in mind, I am not a music guru. I know what I like and I know what I like to hear, my opinion is only one opinion in a great big ocean of opinions. I will not stick with one music genre either, I am eclectic in my tastes. I also tend to use words that make people go, ‘huh?’ There is this wonderful invention called a dictionary, it is free on the internet. If you don’t know the word, look it up.

I am going to start with one post a month and we’ll see how it goes. You can follow me on Facebook, Rayven Ire, or on Twitter, Melinda Anderson or hashtag @RayvenIre. Catch you on the flip side!
